Catherine Boland Erkkila is the Managing Editor of SAH Archipedia, a peer-reviewed, mapped, and illustrated online database of American architecture and landscapes. Prior to joining the Society of Architectural Historians, Boland Erkkila taught at Rutgers University. She has received several awards and fellowships for her research on American railways and immigration, including the Jacob K. Javits Fellowship, a resident fellowship at the Newberry Library in Chicago, and the Vernacular Architecture Forum’s 2016 Bishir Prize for a publication that has made the most significant contribution to the study of vernacular architecture and cultural landscapes.
