For anyone who is interested in the long-term evolution of the English medieval landscape, there will be an interesting talk by Prof. Susan Oosthuizen (Professor Emerita of Medieval Archaeology, University of Cambridge) on November 17 (6pm UK time), titled “Society and landscape management in the early medieval fenland”. The presentation will deal with “the ways in which environment & ecology, polity & society, economy & #landscape were integrated across the ‘longue durée’ to support the prosperity of the early #medieval fenland.”

All interested parties should register in advance in the following website:

For more information, feel free to visit the Twitter feed of Prof. Oosthuizen.

Also, please feel free to view her previous lecture on the early medieval Anglo-Saxon landscape on Youtube:
