    Abstract:
Designed by Women, a digital resource organized by the Stewart Program for Modern Design, is an effort to focus attention on the many significant examples of women’s contributions to design around the globe from 1900 to the present. The scope of objects covered includes furniture, textiles, jewelry, tableware, and some graphic design. This site was developed in conjunction with the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts 2023 exhibition Parall(Elles): a History of Women in Design. Drawing from works in the Stewart Collection, it is funded by individual, foundation, and corporate supporters. The site provides background on the Stewart Program team, as well as Liliane Stewart, the primary collector behind the Stewart Collection.
